Getting Started with SWITCH
We would like to have Iowa elementary schools partner with us to test and improve the SWITCH program. The program is designed to run in the Spring (starting in February) and it lasts for most of the semester (4 months). It is designed for use with 4th and/or 5th graders but we support and even endorse single grade use since it makes the programming unique when children move into that grade.
The program costs $250 per school to run but we are waiving costs for schools interested in helping with the evaluation of the program. Iowa FITNESSGRAM schools are also eligible for a $250 stipend since we want to directly support and assist schools in this network. Click here to see a flyer.
Our goal is to make the program as easy as possible to implement and we want to learn how schools use the program so that we can make it better. Once you enroll you will receive detailed instructions and be guided through the program by our SWITCH team. We run the project as a "Participatory Project" since we view it as a partnership. We can provide guidance on how to run the program and your school, in turn, can provide us with information on how to refine and improve the program. Click here to review the Participatory Agreement
